Park Shelters

The City of Jefferson has six park shelters which can be rented by calling or stopping in at the Jefferson Park and Recreation Department.  Reservations are accepted beginning the first working day in January of each year (walk-ins are accepted before phone reservations).
* The fee and the signed reservation agreement must be returned to the office within one week of the reservation.
*Shelters are available at Stoppenbach Park, Tensfeldt Park and Riverfront Park between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.  Each shelter offers electricity, access to fresh water, dusk to dawn lighting, picnic tables and trash receptacles.

Riverfront North Shelter

Riverfront Park is Jefferson’s main location for softball and little league programs. It is a 19-acre park along the Crawfish River and can be entered from Wisconsin Drive.

Picnic Facilities
Open air picnic shelter, electric outlets, dusk to dawn lights, water, grill, play structure, restrooms are located a short distance away.

Activity Facilities
Lighted softball diamond, lighted little league diamond, unlighted little league diamond. Two lighted tennis courts, two lighted basketball courts, grass volleyball court.

Riverfront South Shelter

Riverfront Park is Jefferson’s main location for softball and little league programs. It is a 19-acre park along the Crawfish River and can be entered from South Jackson Avenue on the south side of the river down from the Wisconsin Drive bridge.

Picnic Facilities
South shelter – Open air picnic shelter, large play structure, electric outlets, dusk to dawn lights, water, grill, restrooms, concession stand.

Activity Facilities
Lighted softball diamond, lighted little league diamond, unlighted little league diamond. two lighted tennis courts, two lighted basketball courts, grass volleyball court.

Stoppenbach East Shelter

Stoppenbach Park is a 6.5 acre Neighborhood Park located along East Linden Drive and South Dewey Avenue. Both the east and west park shelters are handicapped accessible from the street and to the restrooms.

East shelter – Open air picnic shelter, electric outlets, dusk to dawn lights, water, grill and play structure.

Activity Facilities
Sand volleyball court, two tennis courts, ball diamond, and play structures.

Stoppenbach West Shelter

Stoppenbach Park is a 6.5 acre Neighborhood Park located along East Linden Drive and South Dewey Avenue. Both the east and west park shelters are handicapped accessible from the street and to the restrooms.

Activity Facilities

Tensfeldt Park

Tensfeldt Park sits on 10 acres and is located off of Tensfeldt Avenue. The shelter is equipped with a concession window and restrooms.

Open air picnic shelter, electric outlets, dusk to dawn lights and water.

Activity Facilities
The park is currently all open space. It would be perfect for the family football or baseball game!

Rotary Waterfront Park

Rotary Waterfront Park is a 1.3 acre downtown park that lies on the east bank of the Rock River adjacent to the original Jefferson Depot. It is at the end of West Milwaukee Street and Gardner Street. The Pavilion and restrooms are handicapped accessible.

Facilities
Bandshell – Electric outlets, dusk to dawn lights, water and benches.

The park is a beautiful passive recreation destination with a fully accessible pier for fishing and boating. There is a river overlook, paved walking path and park benches. Flower beds and depot-themed trellises add to the ambiance. The park overlooks the Rock River dam and fish passage. The waters below the dam on both sides of the river are popular fishing spots. Snowmobile trail access to the river is provided through the park in the winter.
