| Reason for seeking
office: |
Jefferson is on the verge of great change and growth and I wanted to be involved
in helping shape policy and made decisions, the correct decisions, which will
have such enormous impact on our City's future.
I am a born and raised Jeffersonian and want to see our City move in a
positive forward fashion. I have liked much of what the new Council, under
Mayor Myers, has begun and want to see it continue unimpeded by negativity.
|
| Top three priorities for the
City of
Jefferson: |
1. Controlled, but accelerated growth of residential, business and
industrial development (we must increase the tax base and the potential for a
better life for the citizens of Jefferson). 2. Stable tax-rate. We
need enough funds to not only keep current services from being cut, but enough
to improve funding for vital programs. We must return to long-range
budgeting for major expenditures - putting funds away yearly in special accounts
so that when a major expenditure occurs, we have the money in hand to pay for it
and not have to borrow or cut funds elsewhere.
3. Improve the feeling of "Community" in Jefferson. There have
been and will, I am sure, be divisive issues confronting the people of our City.
We all must learn to work together, forgive and move on and get more involved in
the community (not just when something happens which affects you personally).
We need to work on improving our community self-image and reexamine our part in
making this a great community to live in. We all need to pull together!
We all need to use our energy in a positive and thoughtful fashion and not waste
that energy in petty bickering or pushing personal agendas! |
