Tax Incremental Financing

The City of Jefferson currently has three TIF Districts.  TIF #2 encompasses the City's North Industrial Park and is currently being used as a tool to provide infrastructure to the park. 

Tax Incremental District #4 is a "stand alone" district and required no financial contribution on the part of the City.  The City has entered into a revenue bond with the developers/owners of the property for the sharing of tax revenue over the life of the district.  

Tax Incremental District #5 was organized for the purpose of revitalizing the City's downtown area.  The Council has identified several properties in this district which they consider integral to the success of the City and the district.  The City Council has and are willing to enter into tax revenue sharing agreements with potential owners/developers of certain properties in the downtown district if the projects are deemed acceptable the Common Council.
