The City of Jefferson contracts with John's Disposal Service for the City's refuse collection and recycling needs.   

The service day for the entire city is TUESDAY.  

The GREEN cart is for recycling and is emptied every two weeks.  

The BROWN cart is for garbage and is emptied every Tuesday.  

Extra items are taken once a month with the "bulky".  The bulky collection is the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  

Leave 4 feet of space around each cart.

Do not put extra items next to the carts.

City of Jefferson Municipal Code prohibits setting your garbage out earlier than 4 p.m. of the day before the regularly scheduled collection and by 6 a.m. of the collection day.  No person shall allow solid waste or refuse/recycling containers to remain at the curb after 7 p.m. on the regularly scheduled collection day.  (Per City of Jefferson Municipal Code Chapter 11, Section 11.05 (5)(b))

If your recycling or refuse was not picked up:

    *  Did you have your refuse and recycling out by 6:00 a.m.?

    *  Has your neighbors refuse and/or recycling been collected?
