Message From the Chief’s Desk

            On behalf of the City of Jefferson Police Department I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our web site. It is basic to Community Oriented Policing that we find as many ways as possible to communicate with the people we serve.  The internet communication medium serves as an excellent tool to exchange valuable information with the citizens of Jefferson.

           It is rewarding and challenging for members of the Jefferson Police Department to serve our citizens. In doing so we believe in a Police/Community partnership. With this in mind I believe in the philosophy of creating a working environment, which encourages initiative, creativity and service to the community. I find it challenging to lead this department into an era of new technologies and in meeting the demands of a community, which continues to grow.

           Please take a few minutes and take a look at who we are, what we are doing and what you can do to become a partner as we work to improve our community. The computer has given us the flexibility to change and keep you informed on a timely basis and we intend to use this technology to that end. As new issues are addressed, problems encountered or changes initiated we will place new or modified information here to share with you.
